DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin to leave Trump administration: reports
Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin is reportedly expected to leave the department next week
Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin plans to leave the Trump administration, according to reports on Tuesday.
McLaughlin led public affairs for DHS, frequently making TV appearances and defending the department on social media.
An anonymous source told The Hill news outlet that McLaughlin initially planned to leave DHS in December but delayed her departure amid the separate shooting last month of Minneapolis residents Renee Good and Alex Pretti by ICE agents.
McLaughlin is expected to leave the department next week.
POLITICO first reported McLaughlin's departure. She did not immediately respond to the media outlet's request for comment.
