The FBI announced Thursday that it is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information that leads to the recovery of stolen government property in Minneapolis, or the arrest of the people involved. 

The bureau said several of its vehicles were broken into on Wednesday while agents were responding to an assault on a federal immigration official, who was allegedly ambushed and beaten by three illegal migrants. 

"The FBI is offering a reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the recovery of stolen government property and/or the arrest of individuals responsible for the destruction and theft of government property in Minneapolis," the bureau wrote on X. 

"On January 14, 2026, at approximately 7:00 p.m., FBI personnel responded to an assault on a federal officer investigation in North Minneapolis," the bureau continued. "Several government vehicles were subsequently vandalized and broken into, and government property was stolen from inside the vehicles."

The bureau said it is seeking photos, video or "other digital footage" of the vandalism and theft. People with information on the crimes can call them at 1-800-CALL-FBI or submit a tip online at http://tips.fbi.gov.

"If you harm law enforcement or destroy / steal federal property, this FBI will not hesitate to pursue you, find you, and bring you to the fullest extent of justice," FBI Director Kash Patel said in a post on X.
