GOP Rep. Donalds accuses Biden of violating the Espionage Act, says he should be prosecuted
Donalds said that there needs to be a resurgence of leadership in the U.S. government and called the current leaders "crazy."
GOP Rep. Byron Donalds on Thursday accused President Joe Biden of violating the Espionage Act, over such issues as FBI surveillance and what the Florida congressman considers the Justice Department decides itself who to prosecute.
"You have an FBI that has been spying on the American people against federal law," Donalds said at the annual CPAC event, just outside of Washington, D.C., in suburban Maryland.
"You have a Department of Justice that is picking and choosing who they're going to prosecute and when. Joe Biden has violated the Espionage Act. He violated it as a United States senator. He violated it as a vice president of the United States, and he should be prosecuted for violating the Espionage Act."
Donalds said that there needs to be a resurgence of leadership in the U.S. government and called the current leaders "crazy."
House Republicans have been leading investigations into the Biden family regarding their business dealings and alleged the weaponization of the federal government against its perceived political rivals.
They have been criticizing the Biden administration, including its federal agencies, of running a two-tier system of justice in which conservatives are being targeted.
