Kash Patel's Top 3 picks for a GOP-led Congress to probe: FBI-DOJ, Fauci, border
Kash Patel says the FBI, DOJ, and Dr. Fauci all need to be investigated if GOP takes control of Congress
Former Trump administration official and and federal prosecutor Kash Patel says the top investigative priority for Congress should Republicans win control after Tuesday's elections must be the FBI and Justice Department's "two-tiered" justice system.
"No. 1 – investigate DOJ and FBI across the board to eliminate this two-tiered system of justice that they have created," Patel said Wednesday on the "Just the News, No Noise" cable TV show. "You must investigate and seize the appropriate funding from these institutions until they comply with the law."
Patel and others, largely including fellow conservatives and Trump supporters, argue the Justice Department, under which the FBI is run, have essentially been far more prosecutorial on Republicans than on Democrats.
Patel said he next wants Dr. Anthony Fauci to be investigated. Among the concerns about Fauci, the soon-to-retire director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, is whether he's profited on his long-held post, which includes the oversight and development of drugs from deep-pocketed pharmaceutical companies.
"The second one is I would absolutely have is for Fauci to come up there and testify about all of his lies during the China Virus, its response, and how he politicized our leading medical expert institution for his own personal gain, and then had the audacity to go to Congress and lie repeatedly about it," Patel said.
The record number of migrants crossing the southern U.S. border also needs to be investigated, according to Patel.
"As a national security guy, the third one has to be our border," said Patel, who was chief of staff to the acting Defense Secretary under President Trump. "We have to figure out why these people in government right now have intentionally failed to protect our children, to prevent sex trafficking, to permit human trafficking, to permit illegal aliens to come into America and give them more rights than American citizens, give them more handouts than American veterans who are disabled, and allow them to vote illegally all for political gain."
