Former Gov. Kristi Noem, R-S.D., was sworn-in Saturday at the home of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas to lead the Department of Homeland Security.

"It is such an honor to be sworn in as the United States Secretary of Homeland Security. It was made even more meaningful by being sworn in by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas at his home," Noem wrote on X. "Thank you, President Trump for putting your trust in me to help keep America safe."

Noem was originally scheduled to be sworn-in at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building on Saturday but the ceremony was reportedly postponed due to a scheduling issue.

The Senate voted on Saturday to confirm Noem. She received support from 7 Democratic senators.

Noem will oversee immigration law enforcement, counterterrorism, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and more.
