The National Rifle Association (NRA) has come out against the Trump administration's reported plan to prevent transgender individuals from buying firearms.

Several media outlets reported that the plan is under consideration after the Annunciation School shooter Robin Westman, who identified as trans, killed two people and injured 18 others in August.

The NRA said it supports the right of all Americans to purchase firearms.

“The NRA supports the Second Amendment rights of all law abiding Americans to purchase, possess and use firearms,” the group said in a statement on Friday. “NRA does not, and will not, support any policy proposals that implement sweeping gun bans that arbitrarily strip law-abiding citizens of their Second Amendment rights without due process.”
