The Pentagon is investigating what it describes as leaks of national security information and personnel might have to take polygraphs, according to a report from the Associated Press.

A memo late Friday from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s chief of staff did not elaborate on the allegislations made.

Earlier on Saturday, President Donald Trump pushed back on media reports that adviser Elon Musk was going to be briefed on how the U.S. would fight a potential war with China, calling the report fake news.

“If this effort results in information identifying a party responsible for an unauthorized disclosure,” then such information “will be referred to the appropriate criminal entity for criminal prosecution,” read the memo.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said she would implement lie detector tests for certain employees to identify who is leaking internal information to the media.
