RFK Jr promises to be an 'honest public servant' if confirmed as HHS secretary

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Thursday promised to be an "honest public servant" during President-elect Donald Trump's second administration if the Senate confirms him as the next head of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Trump nominated Kennedy in a statement on Thursday afternoon, declaring that he would "restore" the department and its agencies to "the traditions of Gold Standard Scientific Research, and beacons of Transparency, to end the Chronic Disease epidemic, and to Make America Great and Healthy Again!"

Kennedy thanked Trump for his leadership in a statement following the announcement, and doubled down on his commitment to making the country "healthy again."

"We have a generational opportunity to bring together the greatest minds in science, medicine, industry, and government to put an end to the chronic disease epidemic," Kennedy said in a post on X. "Together we will clean up corruption, stop the revolving door between industry and government, and return our health agencies to their rich tradition of gold-standard, evidence-based science."

He continued: "I will provide Americans with transparency and access to all the data so they can make informed choices for themselves and their families. My commitment to the American people is to be an honest public servant. Let's go!"

Kennedy has promised not to eliminate vaccines, despite his reputation as being "anti-vaccine," and said he wants more transparency health and vaccine issues, so Americans can make more informed decision regarding their health.

"If vaccines are working for somebody, I’m not going to take them away," Kennedy told NBC News last week. "People ought to have choice, and that choice ought to be informed by the best information."
