The Trump administration has decided to freeze about $3 billion in federal funding for electric vehicle charging stations.
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) sent out a memo on Thursday to state transportation directors explaining that the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program was under review.
In the memo, FHWA said existing contracts would still be honored but "no new obligations may occur under the NEVI Formula Program."
