A powerful explosion rattled a senior living complex in Austintown, Ohio, just before 1 p.m. on Saturday, injuring several residents, according to authorities.

The blast struck Phoenix House, a senior apartment building, and destroyed a large portion of the structure, according to Fox News.

Resident Cindy Duke said it “felt like a bomb,” and another resident, Don Lampley, who uses a wheelchair, recalled watching a college football game when he heard a "big, loud blast."

First responders rushed to the scene, and while multiple people were hurt, no deaths have been confirmed so far.

Officials have not yet determined the cause of the explosion, and both the Austintown Fire Department and local law enforcement declined to comment further at this time.

The incident remains under investigation, and more details are expected to emerge as officials probe the incident.
