Missouri Deputy Attorney General Shaun Mackelprang was rescued by helicopter from a mountain range in Wyoming after he had been missing for nearly a week.

Mackelprang vanished last week while on the Green River Lakes trail in the Wind River Range, The Hill reported. He was reported missing and authorities found his vehicle abandoned.

He was reportedly evacuated via helicopter, though his physical condition was unclear as of press time.

“Currently, our priority is allowing Shaun the opportunity to rest and recover,” a spokesperson said. “Search and Rescue personnel will have an opportunity to debrief with him later, but the details of what Shaun experienced during his time in the backcountry are ultimately his story to tell, and we will respect his privacy as he recovers.”
