Police respond to a shooting in Maryland where 5 people were injured, report

Police responded to a call Friday around 12:28 p.m. for a shooting in Bladensburg, Maryland, which resulted in five people being injured, officials say. 

Three of the victims are in critical condition, according to Fox 5. 

"We will be holding a News Briefing to provide an update on the contact shooting at Annapolis Rd/Bladensburg Rd. The briefing will take place at the Bladensburg Waterfront Park located at 4500 Annapolis Rd and it will be held at 3:00pm," the police department said, according to Fox News.

Bladensburg Road and Annapolis Road are both currently closed down for the investigation. 

The Edmonston Police Department is helping assist with the investigation.
