Florida GOP Sen. Marco Rubio is expected to be confirmed as secretary of state Monday evening following Donald Trump's presidential inauguration.

Rubio will likely be the first Trump cabinet member to be sworn in following the inauguration.

Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis selected state Attorney General Ashley Moody to replace Rubio.

Other Trump nominees such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for Health and Human Services secretary and Tulsi Gabbard for director of national intelligence have yet to have their hearings.

The Senate Intelligence Committee could also vote as early Monday on the nomination of John L. Ratcliffe for CIA director, according to news outlet Roll Call.

If a nominee receives a favorable vote in the committee, the full Senate will then make the final confirmation vote.
