The Air Force is hiring for multiple diversity, equity and inclusion positions – with the highest salary offer as much as $183,500 annually.

All of the open positions have starting salaries of at least $82,830. The openings are based in Alabama, Alaska and Virginia, but they are all telework eligible and require occasional travel, according to USAJobs.gov.

The highest paying position, described by the military service branch as a first-level supervisor overseeing "diversity equity inclusion and accessibility" efforts, has a starting salary of $155,700.

The main responsibility for that position is to plan, organize, and direct activities in branch's Office of Diversity and Inclusion to ensure "diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility education and training, and strategic outreach and engagement complies with legal and regulatory requirements," according to the job description.

All of the diversity positions are open to current or former federal employees, veterans, military spouses and individuals with disabilities, among other types of people.

Of the openings, only one of the positions – Pacific Air Forces Diversity and Inclusion Manager – requires periodic short notice drug testing.

The Air Force has made headlines for its diversity efforts over the past year. For example, in July, an Air Force base hosted a "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Summer Festival" that reportedly featured a drag show.
