Illegal migrant charged in alleged murder of sandwich shop owner released into US by Biden admin
The suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Eric Dionida German-Pena, an allegedly illegal migrant from the Dominican Republic, who was released into the U.S. after being stopped near the Texas border.
The suspect who was charged for the alleged murder of a sandwich shop owner in Massachusetts is an allegedly illegal migrant who was released into the United States by the Biden administration in 2022, Fox News reported Monday.
An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official told the outlet that the man has been identified as 25-year-old Eric Dionida German-Pena, an illegal migrant from the Dominican Republic, who was released into the U.S. after being stopped near the Texas border in September of 2022.
The suspect allegedly murdered Ilias Mavros, who owned the sandwich shop "Crazy Buzzy's Roast Beef and Seafood" in Lynn, Massachusetts. Mavros was allegedly found tied up in his own basement last week, with his skull bashed in, a law enforcement source told Fox News.
"Eric Dionida German-Pena will have his day in court, but he stands accused of a very serious and disturbing crime against a member of our Massachusetts community," Patricia Hyde, the acting field director of ICE's Boston Enforcement and Removal Operations office, said in a statement. "ICE Boston takes its public safety mission extremely seriously — which is why we’ve lodged an immigration detainer against him with Lynn police."
German-Pena is being held without bail until his trial.
