Israel says Hamas abducted 199 people and Hamas intelligence head dead
Many of the hostages are "critically injured by amputation" and "suffering injuries from rape," according to the group Bring Them Home Now.
Israel said that Hamas terrorists kidnapped 199 people during their brutal attack on Israel, while Israel says it killed the head of Hamas intelligence as the war enters its 10th day.
Israel Defense Forces spokesman Brig. Gen. Daniel Hagari said Monday that the military updated the families of the 199 abductees, and bringing them back is a "top priority" that officials are working "around the clock" on.
Many of the hostages are "critically injured by amputation" and "suffering injuries from rape" as well as "untreated medical conditions such as Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, heart disease, cancer," the group Bring Them Home Now said Sunday, citing a report from Prof. Hagai Levine, the Israel Association for Public Health Physicians chairman.
Those who were kidnapped also include toddlers and people with autism and dementia.
Additionally, the IDF said Monday that it killed Hamas's head of general intelligence in the town of Khan Yunis on the Gaza Strip. The official has not been named, nor has the death been confirmed by Hamas as of press time.
The updates come after more than 1,400 people, including at least 29 U.S. citizens as well as women, children and the elderly, were killed on Oct. 7 when Hamas terrorists invaded Israel.
