Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Tuesday excoriated plans by House Republican leadership to advance foreign aid to Ukraine under the guise of a loan, contending that Kyiv would never return the sum.

"Speaker Johnson is going to give Ukraine $60 billion next week and claims part of it is a 'LOAN' to Ukraine," Greene posted on X. "It's absolutely ridiculous and laughable to even try to tell the American people that Ukraine will ever pay us back! Our government funds Ukraine’s government at $1 billion every single month just to keep their government running. We are even paying their pensions!"

Johnson, this week, said he expected the House to advance an aid package to Ukraine, albeit with "some important innovations," that could include loans instead of direct aid. He further proposed the possibility of using seized assets from Russian oligarchs to support Ukraine and highlighted former President Donald Trump's suggestion of loaning funds.

Greene expressed disbelief that Ukraine, which is currently losing ground to the Russian military, will be able to return the funds and instead suggested that other embattled nations, some of which may receive aid with fewer conditions, were better suited to actually remunerate the U.S. in the long term.

"But there are two countries that could afford to pay us back," she added. "Israel and Taiwan. Why are we giving them money for free for the defense of their countries yet 'loaning' money to broke and corrupt Ukraine?? Why isn’t our government brokering peace in Ukraine? The American people are NOT stupid and are sick of being fed these BS scams."
