Republican Karoline Leavitt has lost her bid for New Hampshire House seat and to become the youngest female to be elected to Congress.

The 25-year-old Leavitt failed in her bid to unseat incumbent Democrat Rep. Chris Pappas in the state’s 1st Congressional District.

The Associated Press called the race for Pappas just after midnight Tuesday, with Leavitt leading 53.8-46.2% and over 80% of votes counted.

Leavitt was an assistant press secretary under President Trump and a communications director for New York GOP Rep. Elise Stefanik.
