Additional testing confirms cocaine found in White House
President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, who previously struggled with drug addiction, were at Camp David when the cocaine was found.
Additional testing confirmed that the white substance discovered at the White House was cocaine, the Secret Service said Wednesday.
The white powder initially was found to be positive for the illegal stimulant during a preliminary field test when the drug was found Sunday.
The Secret Service confirmed the additional test to the New York Post without commenting further on the matter.
A Secret Service agent discovered the drug during a routine sweep, sparking a brief evacuation of the executive mansion.
The initial dispatch call said the substance was discovered in the library, but officials later told the Post that it was found in a cubby used by White House staff and guests to store phones and personal items that are not brought into parts of the West Wing.
