President Joe Biden arrived in Florida on Saturday, promising to take "good care" of the Sunshine state in the aftermath of Hurricane Idalia.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' office had said earlier in the week that the governor would not meet with Biden, citing security concerns and the logistics of bringing the two groups together, according to the New York Post.
“I don’t think he’s going to be there,” Biden said, referring to DeSantis, after getting off Air Force One. "We are going to take care of Florida.”

Jill Biden accompanied her husband on the flight, and Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fl.) joined with them in Live Oak, Florida, to hear local leaders discussing the damages and the challenges they are facing.
The hurricane has left at least three people dead and caused up to $20 billion in estimated damage.
The storm, which first hit Florida's northern Gulf coast Wednesday as a Category 3 hurricane, traveled through Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina before entering over the Atlantic Ocean on Thursday.
