Biden acknowledges death toll for Americans in Israel now at 14, calls attacks 'act of sheer evil'
President Biden on Tuesday said the number of Americans killed in the attack this past weekend is now 14.
President Biden announced Tuesday the number of U.S. citizens killed in Israel now 14, and called the attacks by the terror group Hamas and calls the attacks "an act of sheer evil."
The White House address was the president's first since the attacks Saturday morning by the Palestinian group.
In addition to the 14 Americans dead, 900 Israelis also have been killed. Thousands more have been wounded or kidnapped.
"This is moment for the United States to come together," the president also said, amid four days of fighting now between Hamas terrorists and Israeli forces. "Let's be clear, there is no place for hate."
