Biden says he's decided on fatal drone strike response, US doesn't need 'wider' Middle East war
Biden has not elaborated on what the response would look like.
President Joe Biden said Tuesday that he has made a decision on how to respond to the drone attack that killed three U.S. soldiers in Jordan this past weekend but that the U.S. doesn't need to be a "wider" war in the Middle East.
Biden made the comment in response to reporters yelling questions as he departed the White House by helicopter for campaign-fundraising trip to Florida, according to news reports.
Officials announced Sunday that an overnight drone attack at a military installation near Jordan's border with Syria killed the service members and injured at least two dozen.
Biden has blamed Iran-backed militants for the lethal strike, though whether Iran was directly involved remains unclear.
The three who died were Specialist Breonna Moffett, 23; Sgt. William Rivers, 46; and Specialist Kennedy Sanders, 24.
