Biden's approval hits record low as he becomes most unpopular modern president
Biden is the least popular president in at least three-quarters of a century, according to his net approval rating
President Joe Biden's approval rating has hit a new low as fewer than 40% of Americans approve of the job he is doing, making Biden the most unpopular modern president, according to polls.
Biden's disapproval rating is at 53.7%, according to poll analyzer FiveThirtyEight, which takes a weighted average of dozens of surveys. Biden's approval rating, which has been declining steadily since August following the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan, hit an all-new low of 39.7%.
His real disapproval rating may be even higher. Rasmussen's latest daily survey shows that Biden is at a 60% disapproval rating and a 38% approval rating.
Biden's net approval rating is at -14, per FiveThirtyEight, which displays presidential polls as far back as the Truman administration.
Biden also has the worst net approval rating and the highest disapproval rating of any modern president at this point during their time in office.
His low net approval makes him the least popular president in at least three-quarters of a century.
Possible causes include record inflation and his response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. A Quinnipiac University poll last week showed that most voters do not approve of Biden's handling of these issues.
