Elizabeth Warren supports Biden in 2024 presidential run
Warren said she does not plan on running in 2024 for President.
Liberal Massachusetts Democrat Sen. Elizabeth Warren insisted that President Joe Biden is running for reelection in 2024, and she will support him.
Warren lost against Biden in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary.
Biden, who will be 81 by the 2024 election, faces underwater approval ratings and questions over his cognitive fitness.
"Meet the Press" guest host Kristen Welker on Sunday asked Warren if she would consider another run for president if Biden decides he will not run. However, the president has already said he intends to run for reelection in 2024.
"I'm not running for president in 2024. I'm running for Senate. President Biden is running for reelection in 2024 --" Warren said.
"So would you rule it out, Senator?" Welker interrupted.
"– and I'm supporting him," the senator said.
Welker pressed again as to whether Warren was ruling out another run.
"You can ask it any way you want, but I'm going to say the same thing. President Biden is running in 2024 and I'm supporting him," the Massachusetts Democrat said.
In December, Biden said he plans on running for reelection if he is "in good health," and he is more likely to run if it is against former President Donald Trump in 2024.
Biden told former President Barack Obama last week that he will run in 2024, The Hill reported.
