Ex-Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms joins Biden White House: report
She has reportedly promised to serve through the upcoming midterms
Former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms will reportedly join the Biden White House by replacing Cedric Richmond, a senior aide who resigned last month from his position as White House Public Engagement director.
Bottoms, a one-term mayor and rumored 2020 Biden VP pick, seemingly confirmed the story by pinning the original Axios report to the top of her Twitter profile.
At the Office of Public Engagement, Bottoms will be in charge of President Joe Biden's outreach, communications, and public announcements.
She has promised to serve through the upcoming midterms, a source told Axios. The election this fall is expected to be particularly challenging for Democrats as Republicans are likely to take back the House.
Richmond left the Biden administration to join the Democratic National Committee as the White House, one of numerous resignations throughout the spring.
