First lady Jill Biden tested positive Wednesday for COVID-19 in what is increasingly becoming known as a "rebound infection" of the virus after she had already recovered from it.

"After testing negative on Tuesday, just now, the first lady has tested positive for COVID-19 by antigen testing," spokeswoman Kelsey Donohue told the media. "This represents a 'rebound' positivity."

Jill Biden is experiencing "no reemergence of symptoms and her close contacts over the past several days have been informed," Donohue also said.

The first lady will continue to isolate in Delaware until the resolution of her positive COVID result, the White House said.

The "rebound positivity" comes just weeks after President Joe Biden experienced a "rebound" of his own COVID infection, testing positive for the virus multiple days after his infection appeared to resolve itself.
