JD Vance's chief of staff to leave Trump adminstration at the end of summer: report
Several months ago, after his wife became pregnant with their first child, Reses informed Vance of his plans.
Vice President JD Vance's chief of staff, Jacob Reses, will leave the Trump administration at the end of the summer.
Reses served in the role since January 2025. Several months ago, after his wife became pregnant with their first child, Reses informed Vance of his plans, NBC News reported.
Vance said in a statement that Jacob had been an important figure throughout the vice president's career, and described him as a "discerning advisor and friend." He said he would continue to avail himself of Reses' counsel until their "paths cross again."
Reses worked on Vance's 2022 Senate campaign in Ohio, and prior to that he worked for Heritage Action, an affiliate of the conservative Heritage Foundation. He also worked for Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo. His future career plans aren't known.
