President Donald Trump formally launched the TrumpRx.gov website, which is a direct-to-consumer portal that is considered instrumental in helping his administration lower prescription drug costs in the U.S. 

The White House said Americans purchasing prescription drugs through the portal will see lower costs on 40 of the most popular and expensive medications in the country, including Ozempic and Wegovy, which helps treat diabetes, heart disease and obesity.  

The monthly injectable dose of Ozempic will fall from $1,028 per dose to an average of $350 and Wegovy will fall from a monthly $1,349 to as low as $199 per month, depending on dosage strength.

The new program also gives Americans major savings on fertility treatments, stating that Americans are set to save more than $2,000 per cycle of fertility drugs on average.
