The U.S. Department of Energy designated South Korea a "sensitive" country under the Biden Administration, according to a report. 

An agency spokesperson revealed the designation on Friday and Reuters reported that the change was drawn back to the Biden administration.

The change came after Yoon Suk Yeol, the South Korean president, had imposed martial law, according to Reuters. Yeol was impeached in December.

The administration of then-President Joe Biden put South Korea on the lowest tier of the Sensitive and Other Designated Countries List in January shortly before Biden left office, the DOE said in a written response to Reuters queries.
