Trump announces plan to appoint new U.S. Attorney for District of Columbia
Justin Herdman presently serves as the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio
President Trump on Monday announced plans to nominate Justin E. Herdman to serve as the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia.
Herdman has since 2017 serves as U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, after being nominated for the post by President Trump.
He serves as the vice chairman of the Attorney General's Advisory Committee of United States Attorneys, a group of 15 U.S. attorneys tasked with suggesting ways to improve aspects of U.S. Attorneys' offices and the Justice Department.
The Senate will need to confirm Trump's decision to appoint Herdman to the biggest U.S. Attorneys office in the nation, after having confirmed him to his existing post.
