President Donald Trump plans to appoint White House deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino as head of the Presidential Personnel Office.

“Dan Scavino is one of President Trump’s most trusted and longest serving advisors,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said, Politico reported Tuesday. “There is nobody better to ensure the president’s administration is staffed with the most qualified, competent, and America First-driven workers. There is much still to be done and Dan’s leadership will ensure the highest quality, most dedicated workforce ever.”

Scavino will replace Sergio Gor, who was picked last week to serve as ambassador to India and as special envoy for South and Central Asian affairs. Gor had a zero-tolerance policy toward people seeking White House jobs who had previously been critical of Trump.

Scavino is one of Trump’s closest advisers, having served in his first administration in a variety of communications roles.
