President Donald Trump on Tuesday afternoon hosted freed hostage Edan Alexander, an Israeli-American and Israeli soldier, at the White House on the second anniversary of the Hamas terror attack on Israel.

Alexander, originally from New Jersey, was held hostage for 584 days before being released in May. The visit marks the American's second White House appearance since his release. He previously visited the White House in July.

Alexander was captured on the day of the Oct. 7, 2023, attack, while living with his grandparents in Tel Aviv. Alexander moved to Israel when he was 18-years-old to join the Israeli Defense Force, according to Fox News.

The White House visit comes as the Trump administration works to secure a peace deal between Israel and Hamas that would include the release of all remaining Israeli hostages, including the remains of deceased hostages, and end the years-long conflict.
