President Trump said on Sunday that he will probably travel to Texas on Friday to survey areas of the state that experienced dangerous flash flooding.

The current death toll is at least 78 as of Sunday evening. 

“Probably on Friday,” Trump told reporters on Sunday. “We wanted to leave a little time. I would have done it today, but we’d just be in their way. Probably Friday.”

Trump also said that Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk's new political party is a ridiculous idea. 

"He can have fun with it but I think it's ridiculous," he said.
