President Donald Trump on Wednesday officially signed an executive order that bans biological males from competing in women's and girl's sports.

The order comes after Trump previously signed three other executive orders since taking office that pertain to transgender people. One banned transgender people from serving in the military, one declared that the federal government will recognize only two genders, and the third blocked transgender care for minors.

The order on Wednesday falls on the 39th annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day.

"It’s just all about common sense,” Trump told the public at the White House. “I’ll sign a historic executive order to ban men from competing in women’s sports. It’s about time.”
