Trump slams his former Attorney General Bill Barr as 'sloppy, lethargic mess'
Trump criticized Barr after the former attorney general said Trump creates a "horror show when he is left to his own devices."
Former President Trump said Tuesday his former Attorney General Bill Barr is a "sloppy, lethargic mess," after Barr during a speech last week warned against reelecting Trump.
"Bill Barr was a sloppy, lethargic mess as the attorney general," Trump posted on Truth Social. "He was lazy as hell, and petrified of the Radical Left Democrats, & the fact that they were going to impeach him. I wish they had, which would have meant that he was doing his job, which he wasn’t."
During a City Club of Cleveland luncheon on Friday in Ohio, Barr was asked whether he thought Trump was fit to be in the White House.
"If you believe in his policies, what he’s advertising is his policies, he’s the last person who could actually execute them and achieve them," Barr said, according to USA Today.
"He does not have the discipline, he does not have the ability for strategic thinking and linear thinking or setting priorities or how to get things done in the system."
Trump on Tuesday also said Barr was "Bad on Election Fraud & just about everything else he touched" and said he was similar to other anti-Trump Republicans, such as former Reagan speech writer Peggy Noonan, former House Speaker Paul Ryan and Fox News founder Rupert Murdoch.
"It is a horror show when he is left to his own devices," Barr also said. "You may want his policies, but Trump will not deliver Trump policies. He will deliver chaos and, if anything, lead to a backlash that will set his policies much further back than they otherwise would be."
