The White House on Monday was targeted in a "swatting" call in which someone falsely claimed there was a fire and someone was trapped in the building.

Multiple emergency personnel including D.C. EMS units responded to the phone call which came in at 7:03 a.m. local time.

The incident was given an “all clear” at about 7:15 a.m., according to CNN.

President Joe Biden was not on White House grounds when the call was made.

The call was traced to a fake number and as of now it is not clear who made the call.

These swatting incidents have increasingly been occurring with public officials, Noah Gray, the communications director for D.C. fire and EMS said, according to NBC News.
