The White House declined a request from CBS News to do a sit-down interview with President Joe Biden tied to the Super Bowl, the network confirmed on Saturday.

This is the second year in a row the Biden White House has turned down an interview that would air during the Super Bowl Sunday activities, according to Deadline.

The Super Bowl is set to take place on Feb. 11 and will be between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.

Last year, the White House turned down a Super Bowl interview with President Biden from Fox News, when Fox carried the Super Bowl.

Former President Donald Trump also declined a Super Bowl related NBC News interview request in 2018.

It’s unsure who CBS pitched to interview Biden. Last year, Fox News offered Bret Baier or Shannon Bream to interview Biden. The Super Bowl presidential interview with the news division of the host network has been a tradition starting with Barack Obama in 2009.
