Paul Pelosi pleads no contest in July hit-and-run in California's Napa County
The Napa County District Attorney's Office said Pelosi reached a plea agreement with prosecutors and was sentenced to one year of summary probation and is prohibited from driving for six months.
Paul Pelosi, the husband of former Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, pleaded no contest Tuesday to a hit-and-run charge from July and the Californian will have his driving privileges suspended for six months.
The Napa County District Attorney's Office said Pelosi reached a plea agreement with prosecutors and was sentenced to one year of summary probation along with the loss of driving privileges.
The Californian was also ordered to complete a 10-day work program, and he paid $11,191.14 in restitution to the owner of the vehicle he hit.
The plea stems from a July incident in which the 86-year-old crashed his brown Maserati GranCabrio into an unoccupied parked vehicle, then fled the scene without providing information, as required by law.
He was charged with a misdemeanor hit-and-run and infraction of making an unlawful turn in connection with the July 3 crash in Yountville. There were no allegations that drugs or alcohol were involved, and Pelosi was not arrested.
