President Donald Trump must sit for a deposition in his lawsuit against the BBC by Dec. 11, a federal judge ruled Thursday.

Trump is suing the BBC for $10 billion in a defamation lawsuit he's filed over an edit to one of his speeches in a documentary that the president's lawyers say was misleading. The British Broadcasting Company has since apologized.

The judge made the ruling after a court filing published Wednesday in which Trump's counsel saying the president could appear between Jan. 11 and Jan. 22, 2027 and argued that presidential duties prevent Trump from sitting for the deposition before then, according to the news outlet Axios.
