President Donald Trump issued a series of proclamations Monday that placed 50% tariff on a wide range of Canadian goods, in a move intended to respond to "Canada’s discriminatory treatment of American products," according to the White House.

Each of the three proclamations impose a 50% tariff on a different set of Canadian imports, covering products ranging from wine to hockey sticks to cement, but do not apply to products subject to tariffs under Section 232. 

The new tariffs are under Section 338 and will take effect in 30 days.

The tariffs are in response to Canada's treatment of American goods, including critical American exports such as cars, alcohol, and dairy.
