The man who sprayed Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., with vinegar during a Minneapolis town hall meeting eight months ago was sentenced Thursday to 14 months in prison.

Anthony Kazmierczak, 56, said during an earlier hearing that he didn't remember much of the Jan. 27 assault.

"It's fuzzy," he told U.S. District Judge Joan N. Ericksen, the Associated Press reported

Kazmierczak was in the audience during the meeting, and witnesses saw him jump up and spray liquid from a syringe at Omar, saying she was “splitting Minnesota apart.”

Omar's security officers tackled Kazmierczak and took him to police officers, who arrested him.
