Georgia residents go to the polls Tuesday to elect a candidate to replace ex-Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green, who abruptly resigned from Congress in November 2025 in a political break-up with fellow Republican President Donald Trump.

The race features Republican Clay Fuller, a former district attorney, and Democrat Shawn Harris, a retired Army officer – who emerged as the top-two vote-getters in a March 10 special election.

Republicans are expected to keep the 14th Congressional District seat in the heavily Republican northwest corner of the state. Green officially left the House on Jan. 5, further reducing the GOP's narrow chamber majority.

Democrats are hoping for at least a close race, which could give them optimism and momentum in the November midterms in which Democrat Sen. Jon Ossoff is facing reelection in a state Trump won in 2024. The top GOP challengers are Reps. Mike Collins and Buddy Carter. Trump has yet to make an endorsement.
