President Donald Trump on Monday stated that Russia and Ukraine had both agreed to halt strikes on energy targets, as global energy markets suffer from conflicts worldwide.

"Ukraine has agreed not to hit Russian Energy targets. Russia has agreed to do, likewise! The World’s Diesel price rise is mostly caused by the Russia/Ukraine War, not Iran," he posted on Truth Social.

The announcement came the same day that U.S. 10-year Treasury bonds hit a 5% yield for the first time since 2007. Brent Crude Oil also reached $110 per barrel.

Driving much of the recent surge, however, has been fighting in Yemen, which saw the Houthis make stunning advances against Saudi-backed forces on the Red Sea coast and directly target Saudi oil infrastructure.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has not issued a statement as of press time, nor has any Russia government source.
