Two killed in Germany after motorist drives SUV through crowd
Eyewitnesses saw a damaged Volkswagan SUV with a person riding on top speeding through a pedestrian zone.
A car struck several people in Leipzig, Germany, on Monday, and the driver has been arrested.
Local news outlets reported that two people were killed, and two others were severely injured in the incident, Reuters reported.
Radio Leipzig reported that a damaged Volkswagen SUV was seen with a person riding on top as it sped through a pedestrian zone. The local radio station also reported that eyewitnesses saw several bodies covered in sheets, and that there had also been a stabbing.
Leipzig is about 55 miles southwest of Berlin.
