President Donald Trump said Thursday that the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon will continue for another three weeks after a round of peace talks at the White House.

The initial 10-day ceasefire took place last week after the regional conflict in the Middle East continued through proxy groups in Israel and Lebanon. The United States, Israel and Iran are also in a ceasefire.

Trump said the ceasefire was extended following a meeting with Lebanese and Israeli officials, which he oversaw with Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the U.S. ambassadors to Israel and Lebanon.

"The meeting went very well! The United States is going to work with Lebanon in order to help it protect itself from Hezbollah," Trump said on Truth Social. "The Ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon will be extended by three weeks.

"I look forward in the near future to hosting the Prime Minister of Israel, Bibi Netanyahu, and the President of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun," he continued. "It was a Great Honor to be a participant at this very historic meeting."

The ceasefire comes after the United States and Israel attacked Iran in February, which eliminated some of Iran's top leaders. Iran has since retaliated with strikes on U.S. military bases in the Middle East and on Israel.
