White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced Friday that she was likely giving her final press briefing before she goes on maternity leave.

The 28-year-old announced she was pregnant with her second child in December and the baby is due next week.

"This will likely be my last gaggle for some time," she told reporters. "As you can see, I'm about ready to have a baby any minute, so I will see you guys very soon. I know you'll all be in very good hands with my team here at the White House."

The baby girl will be her second child with husband Nicholas Riccio. The couple's son Niko was born in July 2024.

The 28-year-old is the youngest White House press secretary in history, after she served as the national press secretary for the Trump campaign in 2024.
