Body camera footage from the 2023 shooting at Richneck Elementary School in Newport News, Va., showed the 6-year-old suspect defiantly cursing at police and admitting he had stolen the firearm from his mother.

The Jan. 6, 2023, incident saw the student shoot teacher Abby Zwerner, who was later awarded $10 million after a jury determined that the school ignored several warnings that the child had a gun.

The body camera footage from Officer Brian Torrez, obtained by the Virginia-Pilot, showed officers in the classroom speaking with a school employee, who restrained the suspect with a bear hug.

The child, whose face is blurred, repeatedly curses at the employee and police, saying "f*** you, b*tch" and "you want a piece of me? Come get it on!"

"My mom had that! I stole that from my mom!" he declared.
