Shooting following California high school graduation ceremony leaves one teen dead, 3 wounded

One man said the shots were heard as photographs were being taken in the parking lot. One of the people wounded was an 11-year-old child.

A shooting in a high school parking lot after a graduation ceremony left one teenager dead and three others wounded. 

Around 7:15 local time on Wednesday, police responded to a shooting in the parking lot of Fairfield High School, approximately 50 miles northeast of San Francisco, CNN reported

One man told a CNN affiliate that the shots were heard as photographs were being taken in the parking lot. 

Fairfield Police Department Officer Michelle Belyea said that the three victims that were wounded in the incident were 11 years old, 20 years old and 25 years old. An 18-year-old succumbed to their injuries in the shooting, she said. 

An investigation is underway, and police have no information that would suggest any ongoing threats.
