Legendary singer-songwriter Bob Dylan visited briefly with Pope Leo XIV on Wednesday at the Vatican.

The pope gave Dylan a rosary and Dylan presented the pope with a copy of his autobiography, "Chronicles: Volume One," NPR reported.

In Pope Leo's 2026 book, "Disarmed and Disaming: Peace is a Gift," the pontiff had quoted an unpublished protest song Dylan wrote in 1963, "Go Away You Bomb."

The lyric was directed at a hypothetical atomic bomb: "I hate you cause yer man-made and man-owned, an' man-handled." Leo used it in his book as a warning against the race to nuclear rearmament.

Dylan asked to speak privately with Leo, and the two met for a few minutes, according to Rev. Antonio Spadaro, a Vatican culture ministry official.
