Trump accuses Democrats, 'bad Republicans' for war powers resolution: 'Trump Derangement Syndrome'
"Who would do such an unpatriotic thing. They know where the negotiations stand," Trump wrote.
President Donald Trump on Thursday called the resolution to end the war in Iran, which the House passed on Wednesday, a "meaningless vote."
He said in a post on Truth Social that the measure was the result of four "bad Republicans" and Democrats who are "fueled by Trump Derangement Syndrome."
The legislation passed in a 215 to 208 vote, which saw four Republicans vote with all Democrats. Republican Reps. Thomas Massie of Kentucky, Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, Tom Barrett of Michigan and Warren Davidson of Ohio voted in favor of the measure.
Trump also criticized the timing of the resolution, which he said comes in the middle of final negotiations to end the war.
"Who would do such an unpatriotic thing. They know where the negotiations stand," Trump wrote.
The resolution is primarily viewed as symbolic because it would need to pass the Republican-led Senate and Trump would need to sign the legislation for it to take effect.
"They’re GRANDSTANDERS! They should be ashamed of themselves," Trump said.
